Michael Tougias knows people who look into the eye of fear and death. Tougias will deliver a Town Hall Lecture on Wednesday, Oct. 17. He is the author of 19 books. His latest book, THE FINEST HOURS: The True Story of the Coast Guard's Most Daring Rescue, is being made into a movie by Disney. The book is the story of 84 men were in danger of drowning off the Coast of Cape Cod when a ferocious Nor'easter split their ships in two. Tougias will share what he has learned from people facing incredible odds during disasters. Tougias shares lessons learned from researching two national best-sellers, Ten Hours Until Dawn, and Fatal Forecast, as well as from interviewing dozens of people who have overcome tremendous obstacles. Tougias said all of these individuals felt completely overwhelmed but quickly learned the secrets of channeling and managing their energy into survival. Tougias has learned that the techniques of survivors can help people achieve their dreams, manage rapid organizational change, operate at peak performance and lead more fulfilling, productive lives. In inspiring presentations, he helps to show what can be done to make the right decisions at the right time. His lecture will be at 10:30 a.m. downtown at the Neville Center for Performing Arts. Admission is by membership in the lecture series. For more information, contact Betty Guynan at (308) 530-8448.
