Dakota R. Niles of North Platte was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with five counts of sexual assault on a teenage girl.

The investigation began Monday, when Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report alleged sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl.

The alleged victim was taken to the Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center Tuesday for a forensic interview. She told investigators that she had sexual intercourse with Niles on at least five separate occasions, according to Lincoln County Sheriff's statement.

The girl said the first assault occurred last spring and the most recent was last Saturday. She said Niles, 21, was fully aware of her age, the sheriff said.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow, the sheriff said.
