Taxpayer group opposes longer Legislature termsTell North Platte what you think

The Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom will fight to defeat Amendment 3 on the election ballot, Nov. 6, a proposal to erode term limits by allowing state senators to serve three four-year terms instead of two, NTF president Doug Kagan said.

Kagan said the campaign will utilize social networking, seminars, project packets and editorials.

"We are working with (the group) U.S. Term Limits and look forward to participating in a debate with Amendment 3 proponents," Kagan said.

“Our founding fathers visualized citizen legislators who take leave from their regular professions and jobs to serve the people, not to become career politicians,” Kagan said.
