VB: Maxwell goes 1-1 Tell North Platte what you think

The Maxwell Wildcats defeated South Loup Thursday but lost to Sandhills-Thedford.

Maxwell beat South Loup overtime in the first set, 26-24. The Wildcats had an easier time in the second set, 25-18.

But Sandhills-Thedford overpowered Maxwell, 25-14, in the first set, and 25-20 in the second set.

"We are working on getting though a slump," Maxwell Coach Lori Mau said. "Tonight we fought a lot harder. The girls did some really nice things in both games."

Mau said her young team is working to improve on defense and make better hitting decisions.

Maxwell's Kayla Stenger had 20 set assists and 1 ace serve. Teammates Tracy Blake had 15 kills, 18 digs and 2 ace serves; Anna Crane had 10 kills, 23 digs and 2 ace serves; Aura Adkisson had 7 kills and 4 ace serves; Josie Cox had 7 kills and 8 stuff blocks and Taelor Morrissey had 7 kills and 3 ace serves,
