Groundwork underway for Inland Truck Parts
|
A tiny slice of the North Platte Quality Growth Fund will help build a second access driveway from South Newberry Road to a new Inland Truck Parts center. The money will go to the Federal Highway Administration, which will acquire the land for the Nebraska Department of Roads. The city council authorized the grant Tuesday, following the recommendation of a citizen’s review committee – David Fudge, Pat Keenan, Dudley Oltmans, Bob Phares and Kim Steger. The amount will not exceed $39,050, the city council said. The new Inland Truck Parts and repair center is currently under construction. Groundwork is underway at the building site, south of the Flying J Travel Center at the Newberry I-80 interchange. North Platte’s Quality Growth Fund contains nearly $2.5 million. The money accumulates from a fraction of city sales tax receipts, and is to be used for economic development.
