Forecast: Warm days, cool nightsTell North Platte what you think

Because of several months of below average precipitation, the atmosphere has been very dry and moisture in the ground is scarce, the National Weather Service says.

As a result, the atmosphere warms quicker through the day but also cools quicker and more efficiently during the night.

Therefore, above average highs across the area will continue, but the temperature will fall below average overnight in most places.

The pattern will likely continue to be the into the fall months, as long as below average precipitation continues, according to the National Weather Service in North Platte.

This forecast is in this week's print edition of the North Platte Bulletin, part of an in-depth report on the changing climate. On sale all over Lincoln County. The Bulletin print edition contains news you won't find on our website. -Editor.
