Naylor, 37, was convicted Thursday in Lincoln County Court. after she pled no contest to theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor.

Naylor, also known as Russell, has already paid full restitution and will pay the fine right away, Defense Attorney Bob Lindemeier told the court.

Naylor worked in the purchasing and accounts receivable department at the college. She was arrested March 9 and immediately suspended. Her bond was set at $50,000 bond. She paid the required 10 percent the next day.

In a plea agreement with the county attorney’s office, the charge against Naylor/Russell was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.

On March 1, North Platte Police were called to the college after staff members noticed that checks written to the schools activities fund had not been cashed or cleared the bank since 2010, police spokesman Troy Erickson said after the arrest.

Erickson said investigators found that Russell/Naylor took money from more than 45 deposits during a two-year period.

The activities fund includes money from athletic fund raising, concessions and events. No funds were missing from any accounts other than from activities, NPCC spokesman Chuck Salestrom said.

Not to mention NOTHING in her precious life has changed!! I've seen this woman at Volleyball games @ the college she stole from!! She and her husband go on living life in their nice home with mulipal cars and Motorcycles not showing any remorse AT ALL! Funny they can pay back 30,000 dollars but " Can't afford anything"! Having gatherings and proving food.. Give me a brake! I'm so sick of hearing about this.

This is a travisty! You pay more in speeding fines than from stealing funds from hardworking college students. I am sick of people like this getting away time after time with behavior, and then going out in public like they've done nothing wrong...Pamper Chef parties..REALLY CINDY!

You are right there is a lot more to the story, like the fact this is her 2nd time embezzeling a large amount of money only to have to pay it back with nothing but a spap on the wrist... The fact that this tore her family up, there 3 children in the situation who know what she did and also have tolive that shame... I really do not understand our legal system at all you will ruin a 19 yr old life for much less but let a 40 yr old repeat offender walk away!! SHAME ON YOU!

I think the college needs to shore up their bookkeeping system. This is not the first time there has been embezzlement.

North Platte justice is a joke and a disgrace. She paid back the money? Really. I always thought restitution was something in addition to a jail sentence. This embezzlement occurred over several years, it wasn't an unthinking, desperate situation crime. At the very least she should have received a year in county.

More than that.... a $150 fine??? That motivates me to take the chance to steal 30 grand if the worse case scenario is a 150 dollar fine.

Wow . . . the theft of $30K is a misdemeanor? She's gotta be connected to someone with some suction.
