Susan Lunkwitz of Gothenburg is the winner of the “Shoo Fly” quilt that was raffled by the North Platte Area Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) on Sept. 18. The blocks of the quilt were created by Ester Holtmeier, sewn together by Alma Bullington, hand-quilted by the Flying Needles Quilt Group and bound by Marge Linder. RSVP expressed gratitude to the community for supporting the quilt raffle, with special thanks to Alco and Gary’s Super Foods for hosting the raffle booths and to everyone who purchased a ticket, RSVP Secretary Darci Kelly said. Kelly also expressed gratitude to the RSVP volunteers who staffed the raffle booths. The money raised will be used to recognize and thank the volunteers that help in the community through the RSVP program, Kelly said.
