A citizen reported finding a body in the inlet of the Sutherland Reservoir Thursday evening. When Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies arrived, they found the body on the southeast side of the inlet near the waterfall area, according to a sheriff's statement.

Volunteeers from the Sutherland Dive and Rescue team arrived and removed the body.

Chief Deputy Roland Kramer said the body is believed to be Sack, who is thought to have drowned in the canal on Sept. 2. Sack, 61, suffered from diabetes. His fishing gear was found on the canal bank six miles upstream of the inlet.

An extensive daily search has been conducted with divers, airplanes, dogs, horseback riders, on foot and in boats with cameras, sonar sensors and drag lines.

Kramer said Central Nebraska Forensic Services from Gibbon is assisting with the body. An autopsy will be performed next week.

Foul play is not suspected. The investigation continues, Kramer said.
