VB: Maxwell wins three straightTell North Platte what you think

At the North Platte Community College, Maxwell went 3-0 against Paxton, Eustis-Farnam and Stapleton-McPherson County.

The Lady Cats started the day with a 25-20, 25-18 win against Eustis-Farnam (8-6) but they played better against Paxton (10-3), beating the powerful Tigers in three sets.

After narrowly winning the first set 25-23, Paxton took the second 25-21. But in the end, the Wildcats persevered to win 25-18 and give the Lady Tigers its first loss at the NPCC Invite in recent memory.

In the final match, the Wildcats outlasted SMC (1-11) in three sets. The Cyclones won the first set 25-19 but Maxwell controlled the second 25-14 and won the third 26-24 to finish the day as the victors.

For the tournament, Maxwell’s Josie Cox had 32 kills and six stuff blocks.

Anna Crane had 24 kills, 32 digs and three ace serves.

Tracy Blake had 20 kills, 16 digs and two stuff blocks.

Kayla Stenger had 71 assists and two ace serves.

Naomi Schaub had 34 digs and two ace serves.

Bailee Keller had 17 digs and three ace serves.

Aura Adkisson had six ace serves, 9 kills and a stuff block; and Alex Gurciullo had four ace serves.
