Dustin Smith of North Platte was arrested Sunday morning for driving on a suspended license, a felony, and it didn’t help when he tried to hide a marijuana pipe. A North Platte policeman saw Smith at 8:15 a.m. near W. Ninth and Willow, evidently driving on a license that had been revoked for 15 years, police information officer Rodney Brown said. Officers stopped Smith’s car near his home in the 400 block of W. First. Brown said while escorting Smith into his home to obtain proof of insurance, an officer saw him trying to dispose of and conceal a marijuana pipe. Smith, 32, was arrested and charged with felony driving under suspension, attempting to tamper with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia, Brown said.
