The Hershey Panthers volleyball team defeated Southern Valley and Elm Creek, but lost to Wood River Saturday. The Lady Panthers started with a two-set, 25-21, 25-20 win over Southern Valley. Danylee Miller served for 8 points and had 6 kills. Megan Hiatt was a force at the net with 13 kills. Against Wood River, Hershey battled to a 26-24 overtime loss in the first set, then fell apart and lost the second, 25-11. “We broke down in service,” Hershey Coach Amy Beyer said. “We really struggled mentally.” In the final match against Elm Creek, Hershey won decisively, 25-19, 25-18, but it was an ugly win, Beyer said. “We got the job done, but we really did not show a lot of emotion or intensity,” she said. During the day, Meagan Hiatt had 27 kills and 23 service points for Hershey (4-2).
