Auditions will be held Sept. 24 and Sept. 26 for "A Tuna Christmas," the second show of the 2012-13 season at the Community Playhouse. The auditions will be 7 p.m. in the Patty Birge Room at the downtown Neville Center/Fox Theater. This sequel to the comedy Greater Tuna is set during Christmas in the third smallest town in Texas. Radio station OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including hot competition in the annual yard display contest. In other news, voracious Joe Bob Lipsey's production of "A Christmas Carol" is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Many colorful Tuna denizens, some from Greater Tuna and some appearing for the first time, join in the holiday fun. The show will be performed at Thanksgiving time -- Nov. 17-18 and 23-25. Carolyn Clark and Carey Harder direct the show, which was written by Ed Howard, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams. It is produced through special arrangements with Samuel French, Inc., playhouse manager Scott Carlson said. Auditions are open to interested persons age 10 and up, Carlson said. There are several roles for children and many roles for adults. No preparation is necessary to audition. A Tuna Christmas is a total delight for all seasons, Carlson said.
