The Sutherland Sailor volleyball team won two and lost one Saturday at the Elm Creek Invitational. Sutherland defeated both Southwest and Elm Creek in straight sets. The Sailors overwhelmed Southwest in the first set, 25-9. Southwest (5-3) came back to make it respectable in the second set, but the Sailors still won, 25-20. Sutherland beat Elm Creek (5-3), 25-18 and 25-20. Against Wood River, the Sailors won the first set 25-21 but Wood River (6-1) recovered, winning the next two sets, 25-14 and 25-9. Sutherland is 4-3 this season. They will be in North Platte Sept. 15 for a tournament at the community college.
