I waited until after the 4th of July, a holiday that celebrates our freedom, given to us by the Vets who fought for our country.

There was an ad on TV, in which families stand in front of their homes and state, “Bob Kerrey’s not welcome in my home.”

I find this disturbing, not necessarily due to my political views, but rather my Midwestern values and my respect for all military personnel who have risked their lives for the freedoms most of us take for granted.

We all have our own opinions, in my opinion, and whether I agree or disagree with Bob Kerrey as a politician, he is always welcome in my home.

Thanks Bob Kerrey and all servicemen/women for your sacrifices.
