Sophia Boe, 26, of North Platte was arrested Tuesday and charged with several drug crimes, after a chain of alleged crimes that date back to July. At around 6 p.m. on July 16, police were called to the 1300 block of West Ninth on a report of an uncontrollable juvenile. The minor’s guardian said that the kid refused to come home and was possibly using illegal drugs. Police investigators determined that the juvenile had used drugs and obtained a search warrant to identify the source. Investigators identified two suspects, Dustin Dowhower and Sophia Boe and served a search warrant at the Prairie Townhouses Apartments. That led to Dowhower’s arrest for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver as well as a Legend Drug violation – illegal possession of a prescription drug. Boe was not found, but an arrest warrant was issued. Then on Aug. 16, officers responded to a report of a juvenile assaulted on E. Fourth. The victim said that Sophia Boe struck the juvenile several times, and also threatened the minor and stole the kid’s cell phone. The assault took place on and near the Poplar Street overpass, the victim said. There was probable cause to place Boe under arrest for tampering with a witness, assault and robbery, but again, Boe could not be found. Then, at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to the Kwik Stop at Ninth and Jeffers on the report of two shoplifters. Police were told that Sophia Boe and a man, later identified as Seth Jackson, stole groceries from the store and left. Officers spent a good part of the day finding Boe and Jackson. Jackson was charged with second offense shoplifting and third degree assault, and jailed. Police said the assault came from a disturbance in the 600 block of East 12th. Police eventually found Boe hiding in a house in the 2600 block of Anna. She was charged with a series of crimes -- possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of an unnamed controlled substance, possession of a prescription (legend) drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with a witness, robbery, third-degree assault, criminal mischief, and theft by shoplifting. Her bond is set at $150,000.
