Charley DeWeese of Thayer, Kan. died at the scene, State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

DeWeese's John Deere was one of nearly 1,100 tractors in Saturday’s world-record antique tractor parade at the fair.

Deweese was driving his 1936 John Deere onto a semi-trailer when the right rear tire slipped off the ramp. He was thrown from the seat and the tractor fell on him, Collins said.
