The North Platte Community College volleyball team won both of its games on Friday at the Subway Invite at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium to open the season.

The Lady Knights beat Eastern Wyoming in a very close match that went down to the wire. NPCC defeated the Lancers 25-22, 23-25, 16-14.

Then in the second match, NPCC swept Williston State College of North Dakota 25-18, 25-23.

On Saturday, the Knights will play three matches, facing Colby Community College, McCook Community College and Northeastern Junior College.

In the first day of the Subway Invite, NJC is 2-0 after beating Colby and McCook. Colby split in its two games, beating Eastern Wyoming after losing to Northeastern. McCook is 0-2 after losing to Colby and Williston State.
