An advisory committee has authorized grants to the 13th annual North Platte Country Bluegrass Show, the Nebraska State Rodeo Association State Finals and the Wellfleet Fall Festival.

The Convention and Visitor's Bureau awards the grants each year to help promote tourism and attractions that bring people to Lincoln County.

• The Country Bluegrass Festival will receive $2,000 to help fund it's marketing plan. The festival is in the 13th year in North Platte and is the largest show of its kind between Denver and Des Moines.

Twelve local and nationally touring artists will provide non-stop entertainment accompanied for three days April 25-27, plus jam sessions, workshops, food and vendors at the festival.

• The Wellfleet Fall Festival will receive $375 for promotions. The festival will be held Sept. 8, featuring family events such as Sheep Chip Bingo, Trail Ride, Stock Dog Classic, Wellfleet Idol Competition, Cross Country Mountain Bike Ride, Co-Ed Mud Volleyball, Horseshoe Tournament, Antique Tractor Pull, Antique Road Show, a parade and more entertainment.

• The Nebraska State Rodeo Association Finals has received $7,000 for several years. The NSRA Rodeo Finals will be held Sept. 7-9. It showcases the top 12 cowboys and cowgirls in each event that have earned enough money to qualify.

More than $60,000 is awarded during 3 go-round performances by top competitors from Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Iowa. Also, there is a trade show after each performance.

The Advisory Committee has earmarked $77,000 in the 2012/2013 fiscal year budget of the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for Promotional and Incentive grants, which are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Promoters are encouraged to apply well in advance of their event to ensure availability of funds. In the past 10 years, the NP/LCCVB Advisory Committee has awarded more than $288,000 in promotional and incentive grants.

Events and activities that occur within Lincoln County will be considered. Applications and information are available by calling the NP/LCCVB at 308-532-4729 or emailing mclark@visitnorthplatte.com.
