Orthman Manufacturing in Lexington will guide a group of farmers from Romania on Aug. 27-30, offering them a tour of Midwestern farms as well as manufacturers and agricultural researchers in the area.
The geography and climate of Romania is similar to that of the central U.S., and as farm technology spreads throughout Europe, this group of Romanians will see first-hand the latest and greatest technology offered by Orthman Manufacturing and others.
Their tour will include the Irrigation Research Foundation in Yuma, Colo., 21st Century Equipment in Imperial, Valmont Industries in McCook, Orthman Manufacturing in Lexington, and Monsanto in Gothenburg.
Additionally, the group will tour private farms throughout the area, including Flaming Farms, one of the innovators of the 1tRIPr strip till implement, Orthman spokesman Scott Casper said.
They will be in the Gothenburg-Lexington area on Aug. 30.
For over 45 years, Orthman Manufacturing has brought heavy duty agricultural equipment to farmers in the U.S., and more recently to producers in countries overseas.
