Nebraska State Troopers have seized more pot -- 55 pounds -- in three traffic stops on Interstate 80, just since Friday.

The three stops occurred in easter Nebraska, in Hamilton, York and Lancaster counties.

Most recently, a trooper seized six pounds of marijuana Monday after stopping a Dodge Charger for speeding near the Aurora exit on eastbound I-80. The stop occurred shortly after 9 a.m., Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said. An NSP dog indicated the odor of drugs and the marijuana was found in a duffle bag in the trunk. The driver, Daniel R. Wailand, 39, of Davenport, Iowa was lodged in the Hamilton County Jail, charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

On Saturday, a trooper stopped a 2011 Chevy that failed to signal at the I-80 Bradshaw exit in York County, and found 10 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. Collins said the trooper was given consent to search the vehicle and found the dope in two boxes. The female driver, Electra G. Walker, 24, of Pomona, Calif., and a passenger Troy Walker, 37, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, were both lodged in the York County Jail, both charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

A 2011 Chevy Malibu was stopped Friday for following too close near the Lincoln Airport Exit, leading to the seizure of 39.1 pounds of marijuana.

Collins aid the car was stopped just before 6:30 p.m., and the trooper was given consent to search it. The search led to the seizure of 39.1 pounds of marijuana and 2.1 pounds of hashish in a suitcase in the trunk. The driver and lone occupant, Hai Hoang Nguyen, 31, of San Bernardino, Calif., was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail, charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, Collins said.
