For the first time in history, the state of Nebraska will be represented at the Little League World Series. The Kearney Little League All-Stars won the Midwest Region playoff Saturday in Indianapolis by beating Rapid City, 10-4, to punch their ticket to the world series that is held annually in Williamsport, Pa. Against Rapid City, a regional baseball powerhouse on all levels, Kearney scored the final six runs to get the victory. Even though North Platte shares a rivalry with Kearney in most sports, including baseball, most North Platte natives were cheering for their fellow Nebraskans on Saturday. On Twitter, North Platte Legion Baseball player Ty Brockmoller tweeted "Nice to see Kearney make it to the #LLWS."
