Please, if you can take care of a dog or cat, adopt one. The North Platte Animal Shelter is loaded. Please quit dropping off pets to be disposed of by someone else. You might try to find them a home. A big thanks to the North Platte Animal Shelter and Paws-itive Partners for doing their best to try and save dogs by finding other no-kill shelters, foster homes, new owners or animal rescue places to save their lives. Volunteer to help at the shelter. If you walk for exercise, go get a dog and walk it too! Thanks to the Lincoln County jail prisoners who clean pens and care for animals every morning. Thanks to all who have adopted a dog or cat. And a special thanks to the family that take in foster dogs at the lake and were in the Bulletin a while back. You are God’s special angels. We need more like you. It’s nice to donate to the needy causes you see on TV but you can help right here and now by getting a dog that desperately needs rescued. The pound has some of the best dogs I’ve ever seen. Time is always running out for them. They will be the most grateful pet you have ever had. Hours are 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. It would be nice to have the dog pound open on Saturday and Sunday afternoon also.
