New room
|
The North Platte Area Children's Museum has a new exhibit -- "Transportation World” -- equipped with a hand pedal train. Children take turns pedaling around a giant railroad track in one of two hand pedal trains. Children can also cast a pole and relax on a little fishing boat, or take a whirl on our teeter totter helicopter. There is a four-lane die-cast car race track, and children can settle into the driver's seat of a car simulator for a relaxing drive through town. The North Platte Area Children's Museum received a grant from the Union Pacific Railroad to purchase and improve the exhibits. The room has been recently updated with bright colorful paint, updated lighting, and all new flooring, thanks to grant monies from the North Platte/Lincoln County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Organizers also thank the business for working on the room -- Rollerwerx, Rod Christmann Electrical Solutions and Select Abbey Carpet. Admission is free for members and $4 for non-members.
