Tuesday, Aug. 7 • Cody Park – National Night Out. Celebrate community health, safety, and prevention with free hotdogs, rides, and ice cream to the first 300 people. Kids have a chance to dunk their principals and counselors. Drawings held for school supplies and bikes. 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 8 • Pop Corner (1847 W. A) – Live piano and song by Shermie Wiehe. 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. • D&N Event Center – Live rock music by national artists Buckcherry with special guest Fuel. Show for all ages. Starts 6 p.m. Tickets: $30 in advance; $35 at the door; $50 golden circle. Friday, Aug. 10 • A to Z Books (507 N. Jeffers) – West central Nebraska’s Open Mic Nite. This week Irish music is featured. Established performers and newcomers. 7-10:30 p.m. Free-will donation. Refreshments provided or bring your own. • Memorial Park – free movie in the park, Despicable Me, a computer-animated comedy film about a super-villain’s rivalry with another villain.
