The hospital project announced Wednesday, Aug. 1 is by far the largest locally owned undertaking in the history of the region.
The hospital board would like to take this opportunity to thank some of the people for making this possible.
First, the people of this region. Our decision to stay here to receive our medical care, and our support of the hospital, has provided the base to make this possible. Your hospital board recognizes this support and we pledge to support the people and businesses of this region as you have supported this hospital.
Second, our medical staff. We would not stay here to receive medical care if it were not for the quality of the outstanding medical staff we have here, past and present.
Third, we would not have the financial capacity to undertake this massive project if it had not been for the planning and stewardship of the people who have served for the last 40 years as members of the hospital administration and hospital board. This has been a combined effort over many years. Those of us who currently serve are fortunate to be here to see this become a reality.
Finally, I would like to thank this administration and this board for the countless extra hours they have put in over the past few years that have gone into planning this project. We have looked at every detail, from what we need to what we can afford. From who should design it to who should build it. From how we pay for it to how we sustain it. And then we have gone back over everything again and again.
Now is the time. On behalf of the board of your hospital, thank you to everyone who has played a part over many years in getting us to this point today.
David Pederson, Chairman of the Board, Great Plains Regional Medical Center
