District Judge Donald Rowlands handed down the sentence in Lincoln County District Court.

Lehn, 35, and his wife Kristin were arrested April 5 after police found a non-operational meth lab in their home. They have two children.

Lincoln County Attorney Rebecca Harling asked Rowands to sentence Lehn to prison, but defense attorney Patrick Hays instead requested Lehn go to the Work Ethics Camp near McCook. Harling responded, noting Lehn’s past record contained seven separate terms of probation on various charges, as well as juvenile offenses.

And, Harling said the probation office rated Lehn as a high risk to reoffend after conducting a presentence investigation.

Rowlands gave Lehn credit for 102 days he has already served in county jail.

Arrest

On April 5, Lt. Lynn Williams of the Nebraska State Patrol responded to a report that the Lehns were cooking meth in their home. Investigators found chemicals commonly known as precursors for making the drug, Williams said, as well as evidence of a meth lab that was not operating at the time of the search.

The Zehns were not at home, but were found and arrested later that day.

The Lehns’ two elementary-age children were placed in custody of Health and Human Services Department.

Kristin Lehn is awaiting sentencing.
