As part of a night-themed summer reading program, the North Platte Public Library’s next brown bag luncheon will be “Night-time Fishing: Tips and Techniques” at the library at noon on Thursday, July 12. Rick Windham, outdoor recreational writer and Bulletin columnist will advise how to make night fishing more successful. He will talk about different species of fish that are more active during the evening hours, as well as types of bait that are more likely to catch fish then. "Rick has a way of making a topic entertaining so even if you don’t fish, come along for the fun stories," said library spokeswoman Terri Johnson. The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited to 70, so reservations are requested by July 11 at 535-8036. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch. Water, tea and coffee will be provided. The program lasts about an hour.
