Travis Lee Hrabe, 33, was sentenced Monday to up to three years in prison and fined $27,135 to cover the medical costs of a man that he beat outside a bar in 2010.
Hrabe was convicted in September 2010 of the vicious beating Tim White. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, plus restitution and five years of probation.
But Hrabe made no attempt to pay the restitution and he was charged with another assault while on probation, County Attorney Rebecca Harling said Monday in Lincoln County District Court.
Defense attorney Martin Troshynski asked Judge Donald Rowlands to sentence his client to county jail, so Hrabe could arrange for work-release and earn money for restitution.
But Harling told Rowlands that Hrabe was charged with aggravated assault and probation violation while on probation and said prison time was appropriate. Rowlands sentenced Hrabe to a minimum of one-and-a-half years and a maximum of three years in the Nebraska State Pentitiary.
The beating occurred in January 2010.
