Crews monitored hot spots well into Saturday, North Platte Fire Department Battalion Chief Jason Trimble said.

The fires were reported at 6:15 p.m. near So. Maloney Road and U.S. Highway 83. Approximately 15 acres were burned, Trimble said.

The cause of the two blazes has not been determined. Trees and grass burned but no other property was damaged, he said.
