The 16U North Platte Sensations competed June 23-24 against teams from across the United States in the Colorado Classic. The Sparkler is the world's largest fast-pitch tournament with more than 850 teams from across the U.S. and Canada competing. The Classic is a warm-up tournament for teams competing in the Triple Crown Colorado Sparkler, June 26-30. The Sensations went 3-2 at the Classic. They lost to the Red Stick 007s from St. Louis, Mo. 8-0, but went on to win three in a row. They defeated the Arizona Azteca Saints 9-1, beat the New Mexico Ice 7-1 and won 8-3 over the Pennsylvania Elite. The Sensations lost their final game in the tournament against the Colorado Crew, 4-1.
