No. 844 at a previous stop
|
No. 844 watchers can see Union Pacific Railroad's legendary steam locomotive in North Platte Friday as it heads back to its home base in Cheyenne. No. 844 has been on public display in Omaha during the college men’s baseball world series. The historic locomotive will arrive in North Platte on Friday, June 29, park overnight downtown along Front St. and leave Saturday morning for Cheyenne. The public is welcome to drive by and see the locomotive while it is stopped in town. The trip to Cheyenne will mark the end of the second leg of a tour that celebrates Union Pacific Railroad’s 150th anniversary and shares the company’s history with the communities it serves, Union Pacific said.
