A Lincoln man was arrested for the fourth time Wednesday for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Wayne Kulas, 40, of Lincoln was arrested on I-80 near Gothenburg. Earlier, a motorist called the Nebraska State Patrol and described a car that was wandering and speeding, and from which someone was tossing beer bottles out. When a trooper stopped the car, Kulas refused to submit to alcohol testing and was arrested. He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail and charged with DUI, his fourth offense, and refusal to submit to testing, also for the fourth time. Kulas appeared in Lincoln County Court Wednesday and asked for time to get an attorney. He said he is a construction consultant, working on the new medical education center at North Platte Community College. Kulas faces up to five years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. Also, because of previous DUI convictions, he could lose his driver’s license for up to 15 years. His bond was set at $10,000.
