A look back at some of the entries Saturday in the Nebraskaland Days parade. Nearly perfect weather set the stage for nearly 137 entrants and thousands of watchers Saturday at the annual parade. Steve and Sharon Hambek served as grand marshals and won the Dale Studley award, given each year to outstanding service to Nebraskaland Days. Sharon was the executive director of Nebraskaland Days from 1992-2001, and organizers said Steve was a great volunteer. The number of entries was slightly less than a year ago. Rodeo Queens, ambassadors, hobbyists, businesses, friends and neighbors rode horses, high-dollar cars, stage coaches and floats along the two-mile route on E. Fourth and N. Jeffers streets. Kids cleaned up on candy, gathering it up by the bagful. The Bulletin staff handed out its (10th annual) special parade edition all along the route.
