The Interact club of North Platte will host a garage sale to benefit Makenna Walters from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 2320 Cedarberry Rd.

To donate items for the sale, contact a club member by emailing interactclubnp@gmail.com.

The Interact club is a group of teenagers that do community service projects. Members are ages 12-18. The club is sponsored by NebraskaLand National Bank and the North Platte Sunrise Rotary Club.

The community of Lincoln County continues to reach out to help MaKenna, 7, who was born with a hole in her heart and suffered complications.

“She’s had lots of health issues her whole life -- none of which seem to bother her,” her mother Jill Walters said.

Medical bills continue to rise and the Walters family is not sure how much they owe, but “it’s been a pricy venture,” Jill has said.
