Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday (MDT), a motorist called the NSP to report the driver of a gold Saturn was tailgating another car, flashing its headlights and showing a badge.

Both vehicles were westbound on I-80, NSP spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

A short time later, a state trooper stopped a vehicle matching the description in Cheyenne County. The driver, Bobby E. O’Reiley, 25, of Mitchell, had a security badge along with a .22 caliber pistol and two cans of mace, Collins said.

O’Reiley was taken to the Cheyenne County Jail on a charge of impersonating an officer and no operator’s license. A female passenger was released.
