Investigators have arrested a fifth man in connection with a child prostitution ring that operated in Nebraska. Brian McCarthy, 25, Lincoln, was taken into custody without incident Friday by Nebraska State Patrol investigators. McCarthy's phone was found to contain several pornographic images of a 14-year-old girl. McCarthy was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and chartged with possession of child pornography. Three men and a woman are already under arrest in the case, which began when investigators were provided information about a Craigslist personal ad offering female companionship in the Kearney area. On April 26, 35-year old Michelle Randall of Upland was arrested at a Kearney motel after she offered an undercover officer the services of a 14-year-old female, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said. Alex Rahe, 28, Omaha and Donald Grafe, 37, Columbus were arrested later. Investigators say Grafe had sex with a 14-year old girl at a truck stop in Lincoln sometime between March 24 and April 11. Rahe was put in the Buffalo County Jail on May 2 on a charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child. Grafe was jailed in Lancaster County on May 5, also charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child. Previously, Shad Chandler, 41, was arrested April 30 at his home in Lincoln. His records were sealed by the court as the investigation was underway, but lifted on May 10. Three female children living in the Randall home have been placed in protective custody with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Randall is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual assault and possession of child pornography. “This is a very disturbing case,” said Col. David Sankey, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “Our investigators working this case have nearly 30 years of experience and cannot recall a time where children so young were being sold into prostitution.” The investigation continues, Collins said, with help from the Nebraska Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
