An Illinois man who acted strangely at a North Platte truck stop is now in the Lincoln County Jail, charged with possessing methamphetamine. The man, Richard Sandberg, was hallucinating and acting paranoid, police spokesman Rodney Brown said, leading a witness to call police. Officers responded and believed he was under the influence of illicit drugs. After the investigation, Sandberg was found to be in possession of a trace amount of methamphetamine and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a class 3 felony. He was jailed at 9 a.m. Sunday morning and held on $10,000 bond.
