In a program to receive a shade tree, a homeowner will apply to Keep North Platte & Lincoln County Beautiful. Include the homeowner’s name and address, species of tree preferred and the specific location. The tree can be planted on a home property or rental property as long as homeowner and the renter agree to the care of the tree after planting, officials say.

KNPLCB will pay for 75% of the total purchase price of the tree not including taxes. After receiving notification of approval to participate in the program, a voucher will be provided to be used locally at Huebner’s or Garden Glove. At the time of purchase the homeowner will pay for 25% of the tree plus the full tax

Trees may be planted on private property or the right of way. All city ordinances regarding tree planting must be followed. City ordinances can be found on the internet HERE.
