Scholarships are available until May 18 on a first-come, first-served basis for junior high and high school students who attend one of two camps held in June. The scholarships pay the entry fee, courtesy of the Twin Platte Natural Resources District.
Youth camp Range Youth Camp will take place June 11-15 at the State 4-H Camp near Halsey. Range Youth Camp is for youth ages 14-18. The camp features soil-plant-animal relationships, range livestock management, economics of ranching and also wildlife habitat on Nebraska’s most extensive natural resource – rangelands. The cost and Twin Platte NRD scholarship for the camp is $275 per student. The registration covers meals, lodging and camp activities, but not transportation to and from the camp.
Adventure camp The Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE Camp) will be held June 17-20 at the State 4-H Camp. The ACE Camp is limited to 60 students who have just completed 6th, 7th or 8th grade and want to learn more about natural resources while having an adventure at camp. The cost and Twin Platte NRD scholarship for the camp is $185 per student. The registration covers meals, lodging and camp activities, but not transportation to and from the camp. The deadline for the scholarship applications to be received by the Twin Platte NRD is May 18.
