The Class A 16U North Platte Sensations brought back the championship of the silver division of the Triple Crown Sports fast-pitch softball tournament that was held May 12-13 in Loveland, Colorado. The Sensations started out slowly, losing to the Triple Crown All-Stars in the first game of pool play. The Sensations then lost a heart-breaker, 7-8, on the final play of the game against the Parker Thunderhawks '96. In the final game of pool play, they made short work of the Longmont Dragons, winning 9-3. The Sensations earned a bye to open tournament play in the Silver Bracket. They "run-ruled" the Colorado Coyotes 17-9 to earn a spot in the championship game. The Sensation's bats continued to stay hot as they "run-ruled" the Rocky Mountain Rampage 17-3 to win the tournament’s silver division. The two teams that beat the Sensations – the Triple Crown All-Stars and the Parker Thunderhawks '96 -- played in the Gold bracket championship game. The Sensations are coached by Al Fugate, KJay Smith and Alice Keck. The Sensations return to action this weekend, May 18-19, in Lincoln.
