A Curtis man died Sunday evening and a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after their car ran off the road. Apparently, their eastbound car ran off the road while turning a curve, crossed the highway, went down into a ravine and landed in a pasture, according to Frontier County Sheriff Dan Rupp. The driver, Robert Magee, 56, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. An unnamed 12-year-old boy was a passenger and was also taken to North Platte’s hospital. Rupp said neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. The wreck occurred about two miles east of Curtis on Nebraska Highway 23. Frontier County deputies and fire departments responded to a report of the accident at 8 p.m.
Northern Lincoln County On Monday at 8 a.m. two vehicles collided on U.S. Highway 83 at mile marker 105 near the Logan County line. A Nebraska state patrol dispatcher said one driver was treated and later released from the hospital. The other driver didn’t need medical attention.
