Scholarships of $175 are available for livestock producers from the Twin Platte Natural Resources District who complete the 2012 Ranch Practicum, conducted by University of Nebraska Extension. The Practicum is a three-season, hands-on educational program designed to give participants more skills and education needed in today’s complex ranching industry. organizers say. Six of the eight sessions will be held at the Gudmundsen Sandhills Laboratory north of Whitman. Two other sessions will be held at North Platte beginning June 13. Practicum registrations are due April 19 to save $50 off registration costs to University of Nebraska Extension, where more Ranch Practicum information is available.
