Lacy Beyer and Samantha Eyten, two of four alleged “kid kennelers,” appeared for a status hearing in Lincoln County District Court Tuesday, only to have the case continued to Feb. 13. Beyer’s attorney Mike Nozicka said “more depositions and various other things” need to be taken care of. Eyten’s attorney Patrick Heng said Eyten is in “about the same position.” Eyten and Beyer have plead not guilty to intentional and deliberate child abuse, as well as child neglect. Before the session was adjourned, County Attorney Rebecca Harling told Birch that a motion to suppress evidence may soon be filed, but didn’t explain further. Bryson Eyten, Samantha Eyten, Beyer and Ashley Clark were all arrested Oct. 25 when police found Clark’s two sons, ages three and five, confined in a small dog kennel at a trailer home the four adults shared. They were all jailed for felony child abuse. The Eytens bonded out of the Lincoln County Detention Center Dec. 16, but Beyer and Clark are still in jail, according to sheriff’s records.
