Although the car count was no where that number, Don Hagan, Jr. and Ronnie Wallace of McCook, Bryan Herrick of Curtis, and Corey Cruzan of Maxwell came out and partook in the winner’s share of the four classes.

The IMCA Hobby Stock A Feature was the first to roll out onto the track. Ben Arvdahl of Sutherland showed the way early until he spun in corner two, handing the lead to Chuck Ledbetter of Loomis. Ledbetter didn't get to enjoy leading long, for heat race winner Corey Cruzan had moved into second and worked him several laps. Cruzan almost took the lead on lap nine, but a caution reverted the field to the last completed lap, making him realign in second place.

On the restart, it took two laps to complete the effort he had made most of the race and went on for his sixth win of the year. Austin Davis of Benkelman also passed Ledbetter in the waning laps for second place. Ron Edge of Holyoke, Colo. and Rick Eller of North Platte completed the top five. Terry Eatherton of Gibbon was the other heat race winner and the only Cash Dash winner of the night.

Kent Lower of North Platte lowered the boom on the field early in the IMCA Stock Car A Feature, pacing the early part of the race with Bob Hoing of Overton and heat winner Brandon Clough of Wallace in tow.

A lone caution on lap seven bunched up the field, and on the restart, Ronnie Wallace, who had moved up to fourth place, went to the high side and made the three passes in the next two laps to gain the lead. Kyle and Casey Werkmeister of Maywood started on the fifth row and both worked up towards the front.

Heat winner Casey passed Kyle and set his sights on Wallace. With one lap to go, he caught "Rockin'" Ronnie, but was unable to make the pass. Casey Woken of Ogallala finished the race in fourth place, and Lower took home fifth place.

After the race, Colton Osborn of Cozad claimed the engine of Ronnie Wallace. Wallace excepted the claim and asked for the motor swap option, which Osborn accepted.

The drama in the IMCA Modified A Feature was not as intense, although if Dan Carl of North Platte was asked, he would probably tell you he was pretty broken hearted. Carl, a heat race winner, passed Don Hagan, Jr. for the lead on lap four and was driving away from the field when a mechanical issue forced him to slow and come to a halt on the front straight.

Hagan inherited the lead, then fought off a hard-charging Josh Sabin of North Platte for the win. Jim Mlady of North Platte finished in third place. Ronnie Wallace, the other heat race winner, finished in fourth place, and Cole Hodges of Ogallala finished in fifth.

The IMCA Northern SportMod A Feature came to a halt with two laps to go after Joe Thiem of North Platte hit the wall hard coming out of corner four and rolled his car on the front straight. After a few moments, Joe was able to get out of the car. The car, however, was in very bad condition and towed to the pits.

Bryan Herrick, who took the lead from Jamey Kennicutt of Gothenburg on lap seven, was able to defend the top spot at the end from Shane Stout of North Platte for his third Lincoln County Raceway win of the year. Colton Osborn finished in third place. Fourth and fifth places were taken by North Platte drivers Rodger Morash and R. C. Heil. Heil and Herrick were also heat race winners.

Next week, the United Rebel Sprint Series will join the IMCA classes at Lincoln County Raceway. The show on August 13 will start at 7 p.m., Central Time. Grandstand admission will be $12 for adults, and $6 for children 6-12.
