First tickets sell out fast for Theory of a DeadmanTell North Platte what you think

It took less than four hours for Theory of a Deadman fans to snap up discounted tickets for their 2010 US Cellular Summer Jam Concert series stop in North Platte. The first 500 tickets to the show were priced at $15.

NebraskaLand National BankFREE Mobile Banking NOW AVAILABLE!

“It was pretty remarkable to watch it happen,” said concert committee Co-Chairman David Fudge.

Tickets went on sale via the Internet at 6 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at the box office.

“At 6 o'clock the flood gates opened online and it never slowed down," Fudge said. "Once the box office opened up there were people lined up wanting to buy. We haven't seen a ticket rush like this in my six years on the board.”

Prices have now jumped to $25 plus fees for Theory of a Deadman with special

guest SafetySuit. General admission tickets will remain at that level until the day of the concert, when they will increase to $30.

Golden Circle tickets, 300 standing room spots directly in front if the stage, are priced at $45.

Tickets can be purchased at the Nebraskaland Days office on East 4th or online at www.nebraskalanddays.com.

Friendly one - our tax situation is high, no doubt about that. But, we just spent several weeks in the southwest and, for example, the Wal Marts there were about 20 percent higher across the board over Wal Mart here in NP. Gas was a little cheaper but restaurants were higher. THe biggest thing we noticed was the streets and roads - in terrible shape compared to NP and Nebraska. We could do better on taxes but this IS NOT the highest place to live money wise by any stretch.

Friendlyone ,our housing, food, utilites, education are very low here yes our taxes are high but nowhere as the northeast or west coast and people dont realize what all we get for our money we could lower taxes but then most would gripe because they had to pay for things like garabge pickup, ambulance service ,higher electrical rates, poor roads and the list goes on and on so becarefull of what you whish for and don''t get me wrong there is alot we can cut

Stuperdave, the cost of living here is low??? Where did you come from? Nebraska has some of the highest taxes in the country and Lincoln County has the highest taxes in Nebraska. Just curious.

Badger and I often disagree but on this issue we are together. It is good to see the rock concert tickets selling well and I think it speaks well for the future of the celebration. It needs to be diverse and it needs to have something that appeals to all segments of our population. It may not be as grand as Frontier Days but it is a good celebration and it brings a lot of fun and vitality to the area while it is held. Good job, Nebraskaland Days board, and keep up the good work in bringing top notch entertainment to the Wild West Arena.

Brian Moore-Please don''t let the comments from the likes of nebred and that ilk spoil what you have done for NLD.The ticket sales speak for themselves. You guys have done a great job!The last 3 years concerts have breathed life back into NLD for me anyway.I have lived here since 1976,and gotten to the point that I loathed NLD.The shear variety of entertainers and events has re-sparked the feeling of looking forward to this celebration for MANY of us.So,irregardless of what some of the "me me me" crowd says, you have done a wonderful job getting quality entertainment to perform for our annual celebration.Thank you again.

Well obviously people want this kind of thing here or tickets would not have sold FASTER than the country show. It makes me sick. Everytime someone in Nebraska tries to make progess towards the future, there are people like nebred that want to take a step backward. Some of you would probably love for Nebraska to get sucked into a time warp where there''s a barn raisin and a butter churnin and old ladies knitting on the porch. But you can''t stop progress, and go ahead and pray for rain. Being out in the elements is half the fun of outdoor concerts. And for the record I am planning on attending the Darius Rucker show too, and the rodeos... all of them. I''m going to go to the carnival, the comedy night, the micro brew fest, and I may even stop by the quilt show. I''m going to do whatever it takes to help support this fantastic celebration.

Mr. moore you need to read all of the post on here Iam not the only one who does not like this and I know that you either are or have been a board member> Nebraskaland days use to be something to look forward to for North platte but in the last 10 years it has gone down the drain and I believe it is because of things like this it was not started to be about rock concerts ,car races ,softball games ect maybe the bord needs to go back and read the history of it. all it is now is how much money can we make it is a celabration we should not make money off of it nor should we loose any My family has lived across from the area before it was built my grandfather bought this land from Buffalo Bills wife so we have been hear a long time but have decided to join the many many local people who take vacation this time of year so enjoy your selves and I hope you make lots of money. p.s. it still going to rain always does in June that time of day! and tomarrow protect them Wheaties a little better in the morning

NEBRED-It amazes me that someone local would wish ill will on an event with as large an economic impact on North Platte as this event brings. Perhaps you should buck up, put on your community spirit shirt and help this event be successful. If you have valid issues with NLD, don''t ocmplain about it on this forum, but make contact with the NLD office or Board Member!

Also the "concerts" and "carnival" are the only things I attend. All that other "western" hee haw stuff is not for me. Most of the other events don''t even come close to sparking an interest in them.

oldharleyrider------> Get your eyes checked. If you can see the screen look at my post and how many concerts have I attended at "Hee Haw Days??" Give up? 4 at most. I do agree Frontier days is far better I have been there. It is you that should learn manners. What in my post would make you assume I dont have them? Picked mine up at the store, they were on the shelf next to the common sense. I''m gonna have to say prolly 90% o the shows I have attended were in either different city or state, because we only get two concerts a year. I only stay in this town because the cost of living is low and the "North Side" or "Wrong Side of the Tracks" isn''t filled with gangs and wanna be thugs like you find in alot of other cities. At least we can both agree that NebraskaLand days (compared to other states celebrations) could be better.

Well, StuperDave to each his own. You don''t know what you are missing! I live in North Platte, now. Just how good can your little NebraskaLand bash be, when there''s only two bands offered, during this little get together? Also one little sorry parade here, plus charging people to eat at the feed. The Daddy of ''em all, is over 100 years old and going strong. Cheyenne got it''s celebration right. NebraskaLand Days, could learn a lot from Frontier Days. You Dave, could learn some manners.

The past few years of the concerts have just kicked. Before Lifehouse the only two good ones that I attended were Tiny Tim and when the Monkees were here. I listen to all kinds of music from all the genres. I would really like to see some tickets sold for both concerts and also still sold seperatly for those that dont want to attend both. I would have liked to see Rucker(I like Hootie) but dont see myself paying another $100 for two more golden spots for the country concert.

oldharleyrider... that information would be more usefull to us... IF WE LIVED IN CHEYENNE! I don''t think I''m alone in thinking that it would be a big waste of time, and an even bigger waste of money to go all the way to a state I could care less about, when there is a perfectly good celebration right in my own back yard.

Being born and raised in Cheyenne, NebraskaLand Days has never impressed me. You want to see a rodeo and some night shows, go to Frontier Days. There''s a different performer each night. Night shows go on all week, not just a night or two. Frontier Days is way bigger. 4 parades, FREE pancake feeds, there are several. The rodeo arena is HUGE! Better facilites too. I don''t waste my cash at NebraskaLand Days. You can''t beat "The Daddy of ''em All!"

In my opinion, this is more than an adequate place for some good rock and roll. Not all Nebraskaland days participants like country music. If the last 2 years can be any judge,I would say that the rock concerts are JUST what Nebraskaland days needed.Attendance for the concerts was very high, and the concerts themselves were VERY good. The Lifehouse concert was one of my personal favorites so far.I was really glad that finger 11 decided to be such cads and pull out at the last minute. So Theory of a Deadman is a welcome addition to the lineup for me.Once again, good job NLD board. Those that don''t appreciate this type of music can stay home and take a break from the rest of the festivities. The rest of us can take up the slack for you and ROCK OUT!LOL

Set the alarm and got some golden tickets at 7am. The wife and I sat in the stands a couple years ago and its just not a concert for us unless we are up by the stage.

I think it a perfect time for it. It is about time we breathe some life into Nebraskaland Days. Even without it, it is not just for Country buffs. It is suppose to be for all to enjoy.
