A rundown on after-hours entertainment in North Platte and Lincoln County. Friday, Jan. 22 • Anchor In restaurant at Lake Maloney - Shermie at the Piano provides live music, as he does every Friday and Saturday. • Shooters - The country music group "West Wind" (country, classic and southern rock) from Harvard, Neb. will play. Starts at 9 p.m. With cover charge. • Karaoke at the Pocket Pool Hall, 8-12 p.m., 9th and Jeffers. Music by American Star of North Platte. Every Friday and Saturday. • Weekend movies at the Platte River Mall include "Sherlock Holmes"; "Alvin and the Chipmunks, Part 2; "The Book of Eli", "Leap Year" and "Daybreakers." Saturday, Jan. 23 • Brazen Jane's Bar-N-Grill, 203 West Hwy 30 in Maxwell -- benefit dinner with live music afterwards. There will be door and raffle prizes, including a $200 gift certificate from the Tatoo Clinic, two $50 gift certificates from Anchor In, prizes fron the Cedar Bowl, and more. Food will be served at 6 p.m. (with a free will donation). At 9 p.m. the jam band BFD will perform rock classics. The cover charge is $5 per person, $8 per couple. All proceeds, including the cover, will go to help Mysholay Cortis, who sustained serious, disabling injuries in an automobile accident Dec. 26. • Kelsey's Place, W. Rodeo Road -- Attic Noize, classic hard rock, 9 p.m. to close. Cover charge. North Platte Attic Noize consists of Marty Mora on guitar, Malachi Carter on bass, Steve Anderson on vocals and Tanner Mollendor on drums. • North Platte Public Library -- Jigsaw puzzle tournament, 1-5 p.m. This is a competition, if interested contact Cecilia Lawrence at 308-535-8036. • Open Gym Night at Maranatha Bible Camp. Sunday, Jan. 31 • North Platte High School Performing Arts Center, 1220 W. Second -- The Sandhills Symphony will perform. This year's winter concert will be a collection of classic children's works by famous composers and medleys from the movie "High School Musical" and "The Beatles" The show starts at 4 p.m. No charge. • Jam session at the Moose Lodge. Music starts at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. No charge.
