A drunken driving accident near Maxwell led to a man’s arrest and a woman being flown to Denver with serious injuries. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 1:45 a.m. Dec. 27, Matthew S. Seamann, 26, of Maxwell, was driving his Jeep southbound on N. Maxwell Road when he hit a couple of snow drifts. Chief Deputy Dean Sparks said the Jeep rolled over, coming to rest on its roof in the west ditch facing south. Seamann managed to crawl out of the wreck but his passenger, Mysholay Cortes, 25, of Iowa, was trapped inside, Sparks said. Seamann fled the accident and according to Sparks called a friend in North Platte to pick him up, Sparks said LCSO was on the lookout for Seamann and arrested him in North Platte. He is charged with third-offense drunken driving, refusing to submit to an alcohol test, and leaving the scene of an injury accident. He is being held on a $50,000 bond. Cortes was transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center and subsequently flown to Denver. Sparks reported she suffered a broken hand and a puncture wound to the abdomen.
