Dear Santa, my dad and I moved, have your magic reindeer adjustTell North Platte what you think

Few traditional Christmas rituals generate excitement with children as writing a letter to Santa Claus. The tradition dates back a hundred years in the U.S.

NebraskaLand National BankFREE Mobile Banking NOW AVAILABLE!

The letters generally contain wish list of the kids and the declaration of good behavior. It has been found that girls write more polite letters in comparison with boys.

Around Christmas many postal services allow the kids to send letters to the Santa Claus and the postal service sends them to the North Pole. Or, if Santa asks for help, postal workers or other Christmas volunteers answer the letters.

The letters contain the bright hopes of children and their embrace of the season.

The North Platte Bulletin runs letters from area children to Santa Claus every year, a tradition we enjoy. The letters come from local kids of all ages. They are generated at home, at school and in other groups. The letters are then dropped off at Santa’s Mailbox in Cody Park.

Christmas has been celebrated in more bountiful times than these, to be sure. However, as long as the man in the red suit lives in hearts of North Platte’s children, we can look forward to a very Merry Christmas.

Here’s what Santa will (hopefully) have in his sack this year.

Dear Santa,

How are you? Hope all is going well at the North Pole.

This year I would really like to get Mega Witch Pirate Ship or a Nerf gun that shoots 30 bullets. I would also like small horses and cows for my trailer.

Sully

P.S. My dad and I moved. Have your magic reindeer adjust.

Dear Santa,

We hope you are staying warm and cozy and that you are getting rested up for your long haul on Christmas Eve. We have tried very hard to be good this year and we hope that you will bring us some presents. Hi, Santa, I’m Braxton and I would like a Cars race track for Christmas. If you can’t bring that some race cars or choo-choos would be fine. I have been pretty good. I do get very ornery, but I think that’s just a boy thing. It’s also hard being the baby borther so sometimes I have to get a little ornery.

Hi Santa, I’m Brenner and I would like Scooter or a pool table or a nerf gun. Which ever you think I have been good enough for. I know I have been mouthy with my Mom and Dad and sometimes I don’t do what I’m told and that’s not being good. Whatever you decide is fine with me.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

You know franny, a lot of times when people try to take advantage of you like that is because they have done it before and know they can do it again. Thats called manipulation.

I don''t give to charities. I''d be more likely to offer my time or some sort of physical thing rather than money. I saw a thing on the internet a few weeks ago that showed how much each of the big charity organizations spend, and most of the time it was only a small part of your donation that actually went to the charitable cause. There was one too that hosted an event which costed them $5000 (for example), but they only got $3000 in cash donations through that event, which means they lost money even though they considered the event a success.
