Tyler Huddleston’s plea came after an October DNA test revealed that he was the father of the victim’s child.

Huddleston was also facing burglary and weapons charges, which were dropped in exchange for the plea to sexual assault.

North Platte police learned of the assault in April, when the victim reported to her parents that she had been raped in January. Police learned that the assault took place outside of city limits, so the case was turned over to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Rollie Kramer made the arrest.

Huddleston will be sentenced Feb. 8.
